Havana Nights

On Friday, April 19th, an unmistakably tropical vibe will come to Bellaire when The Alumni & Friends of Bellaire High School hosts “Havana Nights,” the organization’s 30th annual fundraiser. As they enter the Bellaire Civic Center, guests will be transported to the decadent, sun-soaked Havana of the first half of the twentieth century. Funds raised from this event will be used towards student scholarships, teacher grants, and school improvements at Bellaire High School.
Space is limited at this event, and tickets may be purchased online for $75/person in advance at bellairehighschoolalumni.org

Sponsors at the date of this release include Prosperity Bank, Alair/Cason Graye Homes Homes (class of ’96), Lettie Harrell/LH2 Architecture, Bellaire Family and Eye Care, Steven Vaughan, DDS, and Mike Weston, Attorney at Law (Class of ’98) The ‘401 Table & Tap.  Table sponsorships range from $1,000-$2,000 and include a table of 6 at the event in addition to recognition on all event-related materials proportionate to giving level. The event committee is currently seeking additional sponsors seeking to support this wonderful cause as well as donations of items to be included in the online auction and event raffle. Javier Eilments will have the dance floor lively with pulsing Latin tunes as well as popular favorites of generations of Bellaire grads. Latin flavor will be in abundance with cuisine from Bellaire-area restaurants Café Piquet and The ‘401. Wine, beer, and sangria will be available for purchase during the event.

The event is chaired by Rebecca Phillips and committee members include: Leslie Crossman, Kristi Coffey, Paige Henderson, Nancy Kahlden, Abbie Chuo, Peggy Rutledge, Linda Kocher, and Sharon Sudbury.

The Alumni and Friends of Bellaire High School (AFBHS) is a nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) organization that was founded in 1993 to fundraise and foster alumni connections. The mission of AFBHS is to create a lifelong community of alumni through increased opportunities for meaningful engagement in order to increase awareness, pride, participation, volunteer involvement, and philanthropic commitment to Bellaire High School.

Thanks to the generous support of Bellaire alumni, friends, and business partners, AFBHS has raised over $3 million for student scholarships, recognition for educators, and school improvements.
